Latest Updates from Our Project:

Hello from Asia!

The KLIK Team is in Asia!

Over the course of this month, we are meeting with our manufacturers to wrap up the product and production details. Designs have been finalized, samples have been delivered, molds are being made... Next up will be agreeing on Quality Control (QC) checkpoints, quantitative and qualitative acceptance criteria, sampling methodology and hiring independent agents for the production run. There's not much to share at the moment but there's definitely lots going on, so stay tuned!

We've also received questions on whether the payments have been charged yet. The payment for the original campaign's KLIKs have been charged, however the add-ons haven't been yet. We are aiming to lock the orders down once the production date has been set, so expect to see a notice about it soon!

As always, we thank you for your continuous support and for believing in KLIK.

Cheers,

KLIK Team

Manufacturing Updates #5

Hi beautiful backers,

It’s been a while since the last update, so here are some fresh news!

The last of the brush head moulds is complete. Minus a few minor tweaks in hair color and texture, the brush heads are well on their way to be ready for production!

Our last brush head mould, with fitted hair for our cheek brush. A black plastic cap will be fitted to the bottom of the brush heads to hold the magnets in place and to prevent scratching between the brush heads and the handle.

As soon as we received the final measurements of the brush heads, we locked down the exact size of our KLIK case, drying rack and universal palette, and kicked off the mould production process with our tin manufacturer. The case moulds, samples and the back-and-forth of design tweaks should take a few weeks to complete if all goes well.

And now that our case dimensions have been locked down, we can finalize our packaging design, assembly line and logistics setup. We’ve already established our relationships with the packaging manufacturer and the logistics firm, and just had to confirm the final size, parts and weight - so the work remaining here is minimal.

Which leaves our final big part - the brush handles. Monies were paid, discussions were had, contracts were signed, and we are now waiting for the manufacturers to produce our updated design. We were given another week or so for the sampling process and magnet testing, then another month for the moulds to be made. When all pieces get a thumbs up, we will be able to schedule the production runs and all will move very quickly from then on for assembly, packing (don’t forget the add-ons!) and shipping.

Will all this be completed by end of November? Unfortunately that seems impossible at this point. Going forward, rather than providing an exact time estimate, we will be keeping our work transparent and keeping you in the loop. Progress is being made, that’s for sure - your KLIKs are being built, one step at a time, and will be at your doorsteps in due time.

Once again, we are committed to achieving a quality product over speed. We work on building the parts one at a time, to ensure each piece fits perfectly into each other. This process is painfully slow as each part’s mould take one whole month to make – but if this means a better product overall, then it is well worth the wait.

As for those who are planning moves or want to change their orders, the survey link will be sent again when the production run gets scheduled. You will also get the chance to change your shipping address right before we are ready to ship. Don’t worry – we got you!

A thousand thanks again to those who patiently support us.

Cheers,

Manufacturing Updates #4

Dear Lovely Backers,

It's been a while since the last update, but it doesn't mean things haven't been moving on our end!

Brush head molds and samples are now complete, and are pending our trip to China to finalize the hair shape details and kick off production.

We are currently waiting for the final samples of the case, universal palette and drying rack. Since the case design was created from popular demand during the campaign, we had to start the entire design process from scratch. The exact shade of the gold lines was surprisingly a challenge - what looks like a stale color on flat paper would transform into gold on a metallic base. And did we want traditional gold? Or rose gold? Or closer to a shade of copper? We wanted a shade that looks good on both white and black marble cases, and ended up with a shade of light rose gold (final color not shown in picture below).

As for the handle, the mold process has begun and we are eagerly awaiting news - details for the handle design will be for the next update, so stay tuned!

That's it, everyone. We've been heads down working on manufacturing, and so don't have much to write about - but we are most definitely making progress! For those who have reached out to us, we apologize for our slow responses. To make sure we don't run out of funds like many projects do, we've had to shave our expenses down to our core team, focusing the team on design and manufacturing activities only (and we REFUSE to cut costs on the product itself!). So hang in tight, we'll be getting back to you soon!

Cheers,
